Paint Strokes

Question; why isn’t there a database/place/site of reference in Jamaica for the visual art market, trend, prices etc. Where folks like myself can access or reference art prices in Jamaica. We have an art school, a national gallery, a few galleries and various other art based establishments.

So, I want to assume we have an art industry. So, if one wants reference prices, art sale, and other market trends of say a mid-level or entry level artist where does one look. In keeping with international industry standards, especially as it relates to selling art, prices are usually determined by factors such as market value, the macro/micro economy, artist brand/name and even cultural beliefs, personal values and to a lesser extent education etc.

But since there is no data or gallery database to reference art prices, market trends...etc., what then?
